Who are Palani & Associates?
Palani & Associates Pty Ltd are "Certified Practising Accountants" (CPA) offering clients the complete financial and taxation solution. The firm consists of Ramiah Palani who is a CPA and two support staff, Carolyn Findlay and Usha Sri. Ramiah Palani is an Authorised Representative of Count Financial Limited, and this allows us to provide comprehensive Financial Planning advice, which will benefit all of our clients.
We offer a high level of personal service to our clients. Our clients are the most important asset of our firm and we provide the best possible strategies and advice to meet their needs, goals and objectives. By offering the complete financial solution, we can take care of all your financial needs at the same time.
Ramiah Palani CPA (ramiah@palani.com.au)
Ramiah has been in the Accounting Profession since 1972 and migrated from India in 1983. He is an Associate Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and an Associate Member of The Indian Institute of Bankers. Of his eleven years of experience in India, Ramiah worked for five years with Fraser & Ross, a British firm of Chartered Accountants in India. The following six years he worked with Bank of Baroda, Mumbai and Chennai, as Loans officer and Inspection officer.
In Australia, Ramiah worked as an Accountant for Lightburn & Co. Ltd (three years) and the then Faulding & Co. Ltd (six years) before commencing Public Practice in 1993.
Ramiah completed his Bachelor of Business (Accounting) at the then South Australian College of Advanced Education (now UniSA) in 1987. He has been a member of CPA Australia since June 1987, and has been a registered tax agent since April 1988. Ramiah has been an Authorised Representative of Count Wealth Accountants since Nov 1994, and has also been a financial planning specialist of CPA Australia since May 2000.
Ramiah is married and has two lovely children. He enjoys all sports, especially cricket. Ramiah was an honorary treasurer for three years at both Indian Australian Association of SA and Hindu Society of SA. He enjoys doing community services and loves travelling.
Carolyn (Carrie) Findlay (carrie@palani.com.au)
Carrie joined the firm in January 2009. Her duties within the firm incorporate all aspects of Financial Planning, together with some exposure to the areas of Accounting and Taxation.
Carrie has been working in the Financial Services Industry for more than 15 years, in both client service and para-planning roles with various Financial Planning practices. She has completed her Diploma of Financial Services and is currently studying the Advanced Diploma in Financial Services with Kaplan Professional and a Diploma in Accounting at TAFE. Carrie works part time at Palani & Associates.
Carrie has a passion for furthering her knowledge and enjoys client contact and the challenge of constructing detailed financial strategies for clients, to enable them to achieve their goals. She loves spending her leisure time outdoors with her son.

Usha joined the firm in February 2009. Her duties within the firm include Accounting and Taxation.
Usha migrated from India in 2008. In India, she worked in the Banking Industry and Finance Departments for around 6 years, in various capacities. Usha is currently enrolled with CPA Australia and she will commence her studies shortly. She works part time at Palani & Associates.
She is a friendly person and helps others. Usha is married with a young daughter. She loves music and enjoys travelling.
Ramiah Palani has been our tax accountant for approximately 20 years and for at least the last ten years has provided personal financial planning advice. We have found Ramiah to be knowledgeable, genuine, and we trust him to provide advice in our best interest. His aim is to protect our net wealth and to help it grow without taking big risks.
